After starting home oxygen therapy, a significant increase in arterial partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) was observed (A, B), while arterial oxygen content (CaO2) remained virtually unchanged (C, D). This finding shows that, despite the improvement in PaO2, total oxygen transport capacity does not change substantially.
